Ataraxia is a VR prototype developed to support Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) for patients with panic disorders and Parkinson's disease. Central to this work is a novel Motion Tracking Algorithm (MTA) created within the Unity engine, using FFT-based spectral analysis with custom-optimised window functions to precisely capture and analyse motor movement patterns. The aim is to quantitatively measure the intensity of tremor movements and related signs of heightened nervousness in patients, making these measurements both recordable and practically usable. Ataraxia was a Top 3 Finalist at the SAE Awards 2025 and is currently in development for Meta Quest.
